    We had a poll in discord to decide which event should go first (Carnival vs Anniversary Event), As carnival(73 votes) won V/s Anniversary(25 votes), we have added Carnival Event.

    During this maintenance, we have implemented Carnival Event, some balancing and fixing some stuff:

    Carnival Event Details:

    • New Events (Simon and MatchMe)
    • New Prizes (Costumes)
    • Ends on 19th July 23:59

    CashShop Update:

     

    Fixes:

    • Vigilante Shield now properly reduces Elemental Damage.
    • Naughty Fairy is now equipped in Lower (Both Costume/Normal).
    • Fixed a bug which caused many items to have double resistance/damage to other players.
    • Trade Messages will not be sent to chatsync if it is restricted in game

    Changes:

    • Premium Costume no longer usable in Doom
    • Changes to Guild Package Delivery, only character assigned will be able to retrieve it.
    • Homunc Autofeed is disabled when you vend (No helpdesk ticket will be entertained if you leave homunc while vending)
    • Cross Impact: Katar Bonus damage now applies (which was removed in last maintenance)
    • Enchant Deadly Poison:
      Reverted to old Formula
      EDP will wear off when weapon/shield is switched(removed/equipped).
    • Puppup Card: 
      Additional Effect:
      	+25 attack , increase damage of Cross Impact by 15%
      	If the user is Baby class:
      		+50 attack , increase damage of Cross impact by 20%
    • Poring Knight Card:
      Addtional Effect:
      	If the user have base STR more than 150, maximum SP increase by 20%
      	If the user have base INT more than 150, give extra maximum weight by 700
      	(DOES NOT STACK WITH OTHER PKC)

    Additions:

    • @go command modified. (Use @go carnival to warp to carnival)
    • BGM Selector added in carnival map. (Use @carnival to change the background music).

    GM Changes:

    • Pure is promoted from Trainee to GM.

    During this maintenance, we have revisited some balancing fixes done last week, added trick dead timer and brand new instance/mini-quest.

    Three Sisters:

    Help Nico find her lost sisters and get Piamette Hats. For More details, follow the below post:

     

    Skill Adjustments:

    • EDP: Cannot be dispelled
      Formula changed to : (125+50*SkillLevel)%
    • EDP: Duration of the skill changed to > (195 - SkillLevel*30) second
    • EDP: SP usage of the skill changed to > (90 + SkillLevel*10) SP
    • Cross Impact: Damage has been revised and it is subtracted by 50%. Katar bonus no longer applies to Cross Impact.
    • Recognized Spell: Duration of skill revised to 30 seconds

    Item Adjustments:

    • Changes:
      • HWC/HWC Prem: 
        Reduce Magic Attack by 10%
        Reduces 333 SP per 10 seconds

         

      • Magitech Mobile Persuit:
        Increase Magic Attack by 12%
        Increase SP consumption of skill +30%
        Removed 'Disable SP Natural regeneration'

         

      • Royal Cape:
        Increase Attack by 12%
        Increase SP consumption of skill +30%
        Removed 'Disable HP Natural regeneration'

         

    Other Changes:

    • Fixed some items(like Pine Jubilee) not updating PD on WoE.
    • Fixed RDC Empire Insigna not applying Crit Rate
    • Fixed Elvira Set not giving bonus.
    • Fixed Golden Plate Slot (#243)
    • Trick Dead Time is now limited to 5 minutes instead of Infinite Duration.
    • Added Harp Exchanger at (jawaii_in 33 121)
    • Fixed Raok Runestone bonuses, which were not according to description.

    Welcome to the first Developer Notes. Henceforth, we will try to give an insight of major changes and balancing updates, a head start, by letting you know that we are working on it, and incorporate the feedback given by the community.

    We have been discussing this internally since past few weeks now, and there's a gitlab issue now: https://gitlab.com/revivalro/bugs-and-suggestions-tracker/-/issues/242

    The Eden Set.

    How does it work?

    Eden Set is basically single equip which saves data of all other equipment, so equip one item, and all other items are switched. We have 10 Eden Sets, so this basically helps player to switch from Defensive to Attack position with just press of one button.

    While this is definitely advantage to players, this might be seen as overpowering by new players. Also the balancing can be a bit off given that there can be many sets that a player can own.

    Internally, we have been discussing on bringing up changes to Eden Set vs demolishing Eden Set and bring official feature of RO to change equipment Set. Have you seen the Equipment Window? There's officially supported change set button, which is just one click away.

    As you can see above, the UI have ability to have a equipment set and change with just a click. Although nothing is decided as of now, we will be changing the way eden set working in upcoming weeks. Your feedback will help us improve this feature and balance it well..

    Most of the bugs are fixed and deployed within 1 month time, unless ofcourse, if it requires more discussion or there's more urgent (priority) work. Also, the architectural change required for some suggestions requires massive work (which is still ongoing) and is to be tested extensively (like the event storage suggestion).

    If you filter by closed issues, you can see the creation date, as well as close date and maintenance date for most of them. By that, we can see that ~90% issues goes within a month.

    We know that you may be frustated. Almost all suggestions go through internal discussion and most of the suggestions are taken from the player.     Skill Adjustments:

    • Bowling Bash: Damage has been increased by 5% Per Skill Level.
    • Soul Links: Cooldown of 5 seconds has been added.
    • Tarot Card of Fate: Revised the chance.
      Level 1: 7%
      Level 2: 14%
      Level 3: 21%
      Level 4: 28%
      Level 5: 35%
      Level 6: 37%
      Level 7: 40%
    • Asura Strike: Cooldown of 5 seconds has been added.
    • Tracking: Damage formula is revised to 100*SkillLv%

    Item Adjustments:

    • New Effects:

    • Emergency Call:
      Once emergency call delay ends,
      Following message is shown in guild chat: "Emergency Call is ready to be used"
    • Guardians:
      Soldier Guardian no longer uses Grim Reaper Skill.
      Soldier Guardian have low chance to cast Dispell on target.
      Archer Guardian have low chance to cast Spiderweb on target.
      Knight Guardian have low chance to cast Close Confine on target.
      Guardian's VIT has been adjusted.
    • Guardian Summon Mechanic:
      New Item has been introduced "Guardian Stone", it also comes in the box of 10.
      Guardian Stone can be bought from WoE Shop for 10 WoE Points ea. or 90 WoE Points for Guardian Stone Box(10).
      Guardian Stone can also be bought from Cash Shop for 5PP.
      Treasure Chests have low chance to drop "Guardian Stone"
    • Heals: Yggdrasil berries, Seed of Yggdrasil and Treasureberry cannot be used on WoE Realms (outside WoE castle)
    • Perfect Dodge:
      Applicable on WoE/BG/PvP/GvG only:
      	Perfect Dodge (PD) is capped at 85.
      	Whistle Skill can push PD to greater than 85.
      	
      	Enchant Deadly Potion can be dispelled (Only on maps mentioned above).
      	Increased Duration of Level 5 EDP by 5 seconds.

    WoE Castle Changes:

    We participated in making loading screens before and we were paid with creds not some cheap event points.
    Also when GM Lux from the old server commissioned us to make art for cards, we were paid 20c-30c for each card.

    A Costume Artist Hat( if it's ugly it aint worth it coz there are so many cool costumes out there ) and 30 Event points. Do we even need that?
    I do like the Title Famous Artist tho but still don't need it, because I was famous back then for making art.
    might as well make a big sign "HEY I'M A FAMOUS ARTIST!" and I can just simply change my guild title to "Famous Artist".

    "Worthy artworks will get a chance to negotiate artwork value with the Staff Team."

    Sounds very shady. If the art is not deemed worthy based on how you judge the art, it's gonna make the artist feel really bad. Trust me! *raises the red flag*
    you should just keep it simple like

    1st prize 50c + 10 EP
    2nd prize 25c + 10 EP
    3rd prize 10c + 10 EP

    Other participants will just get 10 EP for their effort.

    If we keep it as simple as 50/25/10c for 1st/2nd/3rd prize, then if there are 3 arts that are already submitted here, other artworks will be discouraged.

    We want to make sure that each art submitted here should have fair chance to participate. 

    Also, on your point, about the "worthy" word, there's many times where art is simple enough but creative, or detailed, if we go by votes or something, both can land into 1st place, but having their own value based on efforts gives the chance to gain something for simple arts as well as detailed arts too.

    And yes I agree on that last note with Vonneh, from an artist perspective that "negotiate" sounds so shady. I know you guys didn't meant to make it sound so shady, but it feels, since, who tells me that we get to a reasonable price together. And then on a second thought, IF you were willing to pay that negotiated price, then why not just made it a fix main event prize in the first place? That would lure in probably a lot more people.

    Who defines if my art is "worthy"? What if my skill level isn't that high, that might discourage some since they could think like "my art isn't worth anyways".

     

     

    On a side note; I had also said that event has way too much going on for that short time (Card Art, Load Screen AND whatever that patcher thingy falls into); that should had been 3 separate contests, with maybe 3 different sets of prizes (maybe even 3 different costumes and titles?).

    Also I still demand a picture of that Artist Costume hat. :v

    I see your first point of not luring the participants, but what if we just had 3 prize and 3 great artworks are already submitted? that would also discourage new participants, so having fixed price is something that was taken off the list. 

    Also, It's not everyone niche to do loading screen/etc, some people likes to do all, some might have particular niche.

  10. To clear some confusion on Dragon Balls:

    Only 100-150 Dragon balls are utilized each day, randomly. Currently, there's more than 400 dragon balls submitted, so out of those, ~150 dragon balls are converted to wildcard, rest of them are converted to best possible number that could win.

    During this maintenance, we enabled Summer Lottery Event and made few additions and fixes as listed below.

    Additions:

    • Summer Lottery Event Added, it will end on 7th June 2020
    • Added @viewhg command. This command allows the player to hide the headgears/costumes equipped by other players. Type @viewhg in game to know more about the syntax and usage.
    • Added Permanent Cart Decoration Set on cash shop. It allows unlimited usage of cart decoration. #137

     

    Changes:

    • Multiple fixes for item Locations (Bunny Backpack). #466
    • WoE Set works on all maps and new WoE Set is introduced for Guild Packages whose item bonuses will now only work in WoE, Horus, PvP, BG, Deathmatch and town maps.
    • Limited Items removed from cash shop.
    • Pet loyalty changed from 910 to 900. #169
    • Players will no longer be able to leave Guild when WoE is active. #474
    • Poring Greatsword now have proper name. #178
    • WoE Quivers can now be stored in guild storage.

    Fixes:

    • Fable Silk Orange and Purple now corresponds to correct name.
    • Added Item Job restriction for Touhou items. #183
    • Premium HWC and LKC no longer works in Battlegrounds. #469
    • Dragobete's Rope and many other item bonuses which were dealing the effect to self are fixed. #154

    • Eden Gramps warp NPC now asks for confirmation to warp, to avoid misclicks. #186

    That's all for current maintenance. We will be having new Full and Lite client in upcoming week (Desktop users don't need to download it again). Moreover, Midgard Police have caught the thief of Lost Merchant and some items will be available through events given by police in upcoming week and many more changes are planned.

    We scrutinize everything that goes into the patch, minor overlook can happen, but patches are never harmful, MissingFile patch actually contain lots of missing resources which are very USEFUL. Unfortunately, we don't have any control over AndRO, as it is third party developer, neither we knew that 50MB patch would make it fail. That being said, we have tried to contact AndRO developer, but we don't even know if there will be a fix from his side.

    I won't try to change your choice of other server as you have already joined there. I hope you enjoy it.

    In commemoration of RevivalRO reaching its highest peak players number recently, we will be having a Double Donor Box event along with a Server Peak Surprise Sale (more details will be released soon) which will last from 23rd of April 1:30 server time until the 30th of April 23:59 server time. Along with this, we will also release our 6th and 7th year Loyal Player Rewards. During this maintenance, we have also updated our Easter Event and made few additions and fixes as listed below:

     

    Easter Event:

    • Easter Event has been updated with a few fixes:
      • More Eggs have been respawned in fields and dungeons.
      • Easter Dragon have appeared in Geffen.
      • Wiggleton (Easter Boss) stats adjustment.
      • When the Easter Boss dies, Easter Dragon gets very happy and spawns tons of eggs (and dragon eggs) around the Midgard.
      • Ransom bunny has adjusted its ransom value.

     

    Battleground AFK System:

    • Adjustments to Battlegrounds AFK punishment system were made. The followings are the punishments for being AFK in the Battlegrounds:
      • 1st Offense:
        • Kick from Battlegrounds
      • 2nd Offense:
        • Kick from Battlegrounds
        • Mute for 30 minutes
      • 3rd Offense:
        • Kick from Battlegrounds
        • Mute for 60 minutes
        • Delete 50 badges from AFK character
        • Ban from entering Battlegrounds for the next 2 hours
      • Further Offense:
        • Kick From Battlegrounds
        • Mute for 60 minutes
        • Delete all badges from the AFK character
        • Ban from entering Battlegrounds for next 1 day

     

    Loyal Player Rewards:

    • Loyal Player Rewards for 6th and 7th year has been added:

     

    Additions:

    • Items kept in Favourite tab cannot be dropped.
    • This maintenance will unload the Autotraders, for this reason, we will provide Autotrade with 7,000,000 zeny fee starting from after this maintenance until the 30th of April 2020 23:59 server time.

     

    Changes:

    • Battlegrounds will now announce the name of player.
    • WoE Set C equipments are now wearable by Ninjas.
    • WoE Set item bonuses will now only work in WoE, Horus, PvP, BG, Deathmatch and town maps.
    • Crafted/Forged item names are no longer shown in chat channels.

     

    Fixes:

    • Costume: Heroic Cyber Income, Magitech Costumes and Royal Costumes are now tradable.
    • An unknown status "Freezing Status" has been removed.
    • Bagh Nakh weapon will now take DemiHuman into consideration.

    After the event is now on run for some times; here some suggestions.

    Idk how, but make the Bunny to survive a bit longer. I know the intention is that you don't need be super-duper pro to kill it. But that thing is not even surviving a minute after it spawned. Maybe increase it's MDEF and give it Plant-DEF, so that Melee will always do 1 dmg.

     

    Further I would say, Maybe double the amount of Eggs that drop in town when the Bunny dies. The player count is relatively high, and especially in small towns the eggs are gone in matter of seconds.

     

    Remove the Trash, or decrease the chance on which you get the Trash items in Bags. The Bags are really frustrating right now, since you not only need to avoid the Trash items, you ALSO need to pass on the past event gears (if you got them already), to even get to the newer ones.

    Alternative to that: Make a Exchanger similar to maybe Halloween one or that Valentines one (with the Zeny-Double).

    We are reviewing the eggs and making some changes to it, along with new type of eggs. That ransom bunny too needed to go (too expensive).

    We are discussing on exchanger too,(it may come maybe @ last week of event or after the event).

    Once again we're opening the door for new GM Applications! We are currently understaffed and looking for active people to be one of our RevivalRO family members, slaves staff. Although the positions that we are looking for are currently volunteer based, we will require anyone selected to have a considerable amount of time dedicated to the position given to them. Please keep that in mind during all the stages of the application process, make sure that you are willing, and that you will be able to commit to a position before applying for one. Also know that applying to become a GM does NOT guarantee that you will be selected.
     
    Asking any staff member for assistance when answering any of the questions on your application WILL result in disqualification. Follow all of the instructions when applying, details are important. Do not skip steps or cut corners, we will overlook your application as a result.


    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

    Do I need to be 18 years of age or older to apply?

    • No, however -- being 13+ would certainly help your case (COPPA, and all). We care about mental maturity more than we do about physical maturity. Also, the fact that you are allegedly over 13 when you agreed to play this game.


    How many hours do I need to work?!

    • Ideally we expect you to be around at least 2 continuous hours per day, but it can be flexible. The requirement here is that you can be relied upon when needed. This is NOT just a "do it when I feel like it" thing. By applying to be a GM, you are saying that you are willing to ACTIVELY make time in your day to meet various GM-related responsibilities for as long as foreseeably possible. List your availability based on your regular life--not on your breaks or vacation days or anything else. Moreover, if you don't have the time or will to dedicate to a position, then it's better not to apply.
       

    What is availability, and how do I fill it out?

    • Essentially, it is the amount of time per day/week that you'd be willing to devote to GMing. Just because you're free, that doesn't mean you'll be GMing automatically. You should also take into account things like traveling time, meals, study time, family or social time, etc. You need to be realistic over long term with this, because if you put you are available to GM 80 hours a week, we'll be assuming that you're full of shit.
       

    Does GMing get me chicks/dudes? Does it make me popular?

    • If only. Most of the things that would actively get you chicks/dudes are forbidden--as in, we have rules against giving out free stuff and haxing stats and whatnot, so if you're going to apply just for the attention/chicks/dudes--don't bother. It is also forbidden to reveal confidential information regarding anything discussed as a GM.
       

    Do I have to stop playing my current character/account?

    • At the moment, no. However, if you get accepted as a GM candidate, most likely your time on your legit will plummet. You will have to distance yourself from your friends or guild a least a little. GMing always comes before regular playing, no matter how hard you want to WoE at the time. Thus, if you are extremely active in your guild/with your friends and are unwilling to put that second in your RO life, you should not apply. However, if we find your performance as a GM unsatisfactory, especially because of your legit or if our rules change, we do reserve the right to either suspend your legit until your quality of conduct improves, or simply remove you from the team. Also since this is said, being a GM means you can't be a leader, or in a lead position in any WoE Guilds.
       

    How much time do I need in order to properly GM?

    • If you're logged into RO in any capacity, you are expected to be ready to GM. It's pretty hard to say because of that, since some days are busier than others. But basically, consider it similar to being a receptionist. After you finish your basic duties and paper work, you can be at the desk doing whatever, but as soon as someone steps foot inside the building, you need to attend to them. Whether you consider your idle time as GMing time is up to you. We're not going to give a concrete requirement because that varies widely with the job, and we try our best to be flexible.
       

    Should I embellish my application, leave out critical information, or essentially lie in order to be selected?

    • No. We've been doing these applications long enough to tell when someone is lying about what their hours are, how dedicated they can be, etc. The best thing to do is to just be honest--but still professional. Seriously, anytime someone says something like "My only weakness is that I work too hard!" we roll our eyes hard enough that they're in danger of popping out of our heads.
       

    Are there any other requirements to be a GM that I may be unaware of?

    • Aside from certain secret special things we look for, you must be fluent in English and willing to type at least semi-properly, this is an English speaking server, so that is a MUST--it is also a must to successfully complete the application. Moreover, you should have a fairly clean slate. That is not to say that if you've ever been warned or banned, ever, we won't accept you, but having a history of being drama bait, being disrespectful, being inflammatory, or otherwise breaking rules will make us hesitate rather hard to hire you. It would also help if you knew RO, especially the gameplay of Loki.
       

    How many positions are you looking to fill?

    • We generally hire as many people as we can that fit all required criteria. There really isn't a hard cap, if your application is solid and you ace through the interviews, we'll hire as many qualified people as we can.
       

    I donated a lot of money to the server, that will automatically make me a GM right?

    • No. We don't care how much money you invested into your account--that has little to do with how good of a GM you could be.
       

    How much will this position pay?

    • GMing is its own reward a volunteer position and we do not offer monetary compensation.

    When will I be notified that I have been selected to be a GM?

    • If we choose to pick you as a candidate, you will know at the same time as all the other candidates. Do not use a fake/full/crappy email for this, because you will be out of luck.

    During this maintenance, we have updated our Cash Shop items and made few additions and fixes as listed below:

     

    Cash Shop Changes:

    • We introduced Easter items for cashshop, more details here: 

    Donor Box 2020:

    • We will be introducing new Donor Box 2020 by 9th April 2020. More Details to follow soon.

    Guild Package:

    • Guild Package has been revamped with WoE in consideration and avoiding abuse of Guild Packages, you can get detailed information in the post: 

    Additions:

    • Implemented System to detect AFK in battleground.

    Changes:

    • Angel of Kindness, Angel of Love, and Celestial Veil are no longer wearable in Legit Area (#155)
    • Costume: Big Bad Pirate, Costume: Amistr Ears & Costume: Crimson Booster are now tradable

    Fixes:

    • 'Blood will have Blood' quest fix wherein user was not able to complete the quest (#130)

    Server:

    • This maintenance was focused on diagnostic and improvement of server network capacity.
